165BHP….Dry Weight 330 Kilos….500BHP per Ton….0 to 100 quicker than you have read this line!! (Sub 5 seconds)
I purchased the exoskeletal chassis, nose cone and a few other bits from MEV. I was not massively impressed with their build quality so I commissioned a good friend of mine (who happens to be an aircraft engineer) to build the Trike for me.
The MEV Trike build took in excess of 300 hrs, no corner was cut, this MEV has been built to the highest standard using the best components available !!
Not being a mechanic myself I did not want to be “tinkering” (As kit car people call it) every weekend, as testament to the build quality I have covered 2500 mile in 2 years and apart from a component failure (Fuel pump) the trike has not missed a beat.
It’s on an age related plate, all new parts were used during the build, and the R1 engine which had only covered 7000 miles was completely striped and re-built during the build.
The trike has no driver aids, so no ABS, no traction control, no DSC etc….Its 100% down to your ability and your right foot, if you want a pure driving experience and super car performance than this could be for you.
I had a few options on the trike, electric reverse gear, front and rear spoiler kit, quick rack (2.2 turns lock to lock) fully adjustable suspension Quaife gear change…the list goes on…. Since the build I have also ran the cooling system on evans waterless coolant, so its pressure less and runs cooler.
I hope this gives you an idea of what I have for sale, please don’t confuse this with a kit car built by your local DIY man! (No disrespect intended if thats you!)
If you are interested please call to arrange to view, a test drive can also be arranged by appointment.

1975 YAMAHA FSI-E (Fizzie)
ONLY COVERED 1,068 miles
49cc SINGLE CYLINDER AIR COOLED 2 STROKE PRODUCING 5BHP.
11 OWNERS FROM NEW.
PARTIAL SERVICE HISTORY AND OWNERS MANUALS.
This YAMAHA FS1-E (Fizzie) is in show winning condition !!!
On 15th December 1971, transport minister, John Peyton decreed that all 16-year olds’ should ride only mopeds, the government of the day reckoning the legislation that required a moped to have pedals would mean that the machine would be little less than a bicycle with an engine bolted on, but how very wrong they were. The manufacturers simply added all but useless pedals to their existing ranges and the end result was a breed of nifty fifties that quickly gained cult status, and with it a whole load of bragging rights about the top speed these diminutive machines actually got up to.
The most popular of these machines was, and still is the Yamaha FS1-E, even before the paint job became something that King Kenny would be proud to wear, the Fizzie proved to be the best seller by a good margin
In use the Fizzie is a pleasure, the engine is powerful enough to keep up with the traffic, while the chassis is surprisingly taught and sweet for such a humble beast. The all down, four-speed box is a little strange for those used to the usual one down and the rest up transmission, but it soon becomes second nature with neutral all the way up. In first gear it is important to keep the revs up to save the engine bogging down as the clutch is released, but once on the move the disc valve keeps things smooth and quite torquey too. Everything about the small Yam is a delight with the exception of having to carry a small bottle of 2-stroke oil around with you to add to the petrol as you fill the tank !!
